Situation in which a claim results in damage whose gravity prevents the repair of the insured property or makes it too costly. In auto insurance, it is considered that there is also a total loss when the estimated value for repairing the damage suffered, plus the value of the salvage, exceeds 100% of the market value of the vehicle with less than two years or exceeds 120% of the market value of the vehicle over two years old.
